Not sure if they did who would end up being the bigger asshole. My opinion of AWS is already at an all time low, but my opinion of Facebook has always been low too. At least it would introduce some competition for AWS.

I've wasted SO much time trying to get vim set up to be roughly as productive as intellij. if there was some way I could get this out of the box i would be happy, but until then just using ideavim in intellij, pycharm will be my go to

They are close to hitting a critical point in terms of political and economic power where they literally will no longer be able to be stopped. We will have no recourse but to replace our government with Amazon. It will be like Buy n Larg

Just thinking about it logically and you can see that it is. An angel has put signifigant personal investment into a project, they want to see it succeed both for themselves and for the entrepreneur according to their vision. In that sens

What about a type of liscence that behaves like a union. If you pay into this union then you are free to monetize all software with this particular license? Then at least AWS has to pay elastic something if they want to use it

I can relate to this idea. I've never actually used chalk. My hands are the right level of tackiness with a little bit of sweating that chalk takes it to the point of slippery. All my clibming friends are like "You dont use cha

I'm increasingly seeing companies embrace "dont develop locally". Personally the idea of having to sign into AWS console to develop makes me cringe, but i'm seeing more people just be ok with it.

I see all these notebooks products and I honestly don't know how any of them plan to compete with AWS...no body wants self hosted anymore, everyone just wants to pay AWS or databricks for it. Can other people chime in? Maybe i'm

I almost don't want to read this because for any company I work for its almost pointless to try convince them not to use Redshift. I'm slowly seeing the future of software engineering just us being switchboard operators for AWS.

Hold up, doesn't something central still need to decide what cohort you are and store your individual data? How does it decide what cohort you are locally without pulling data about other users down locally or sending your individual
