my story was clojure. came for the immutable data structures, stayed for reagent. you should learn clojurescript and reagent! it’s very good. lots of good clojure books to read too.

don’t refactor, rebuild. you have multiple reference implementations. learn from them. have better engineers make the attempt. do it in parallel and only switch over if it’s not worse. bonus points for multiple competing rebuilds.

anything without interactive notifications will need restrictive rules, but should work. ufw preventing all udp 53 to anywhere but 1.1.1.1 might have worked. it’s the raised eyebrows that are the most important part. ttre, time to raised ey

another comment here rightly pointed out that what we want is to protect our files from being read by unrelated processes. there are no good implementations of this yet to my knowledge. encrypted fuse with snitch like rules and prompts is p

using remote resources as a part of your local dev flow can be very useful if your local environment is constrained on cpu/ram/gpu/ssd/bandwidth. this can be as simple as an ephemeral ec2 spot machine that reacts every t

i had a lot of fun exploring the performance ceiling of csv and csv like formats. turns out binary encoding of size prefixed byte arrays is fast[1]. csv is just a sequence of 2d byte arrays. probably avoid if dealing with heterogeneous exte

i have this laptop and am also very satisifed. zero issues. i run a minimal dev setup[1]. there is a simpsons episode where homer designs a car. it has a lot of cup holders and is very expensive. this is a lot like macos, and even more like

use a network snitch[1] on desktop and mobile. the original slogan says it all: makes the invisible visible. i’d love to use a filesystem snitch too, but none exist yet afaik. it’s interesting to observe firefox or any other legitimate app

independent scale to zero services per end user is definitely the play. people can sell their data on marketplaces if they want to cover the few dollars a month of usage fees.

you don’t want a free tier. what you want is reasonable usage based pricing and scale to zero. all the actual tiny projects on free tiers have actual costs approaching zero. everything else shouldn’t be on a free tier. if it’s not possible

my understanding is that this hook is the only one, but to properly secure io_uring one has to implement a check for every call here. or just disable it.
