Am I correct that this only shows GUI apps that can be installed via Homebrew? I'm sure I have some command line utilities installed that aren't showing up in Applite.

I had the opposite reaction. I thought this was funny but I also think there's a about a 10% chance AI will go really badly for humanity in the next 30 years and appreciated the future of life institute's letter. I'm also sad

You'll be fine. If anything CSS is the one thing that's gotten easier in web dev. It might take some time but you'll be able to grok it for sure if you've dealt with old school CSS.

After trying a bunch of fancy frameworks and platforms I ended up doing exactly this - a static site with alpinejs and tailwind. It has been by far the best decision I've ever made. And the best thing is I'm confident any new dev

And even if you do get a VPN, the inconvenience and network effects push everyone towards censored Chinese alternatives like Weibo and Youku anyway. One thing I've seen working is western countries investing in high-quality media that

I would have thought "first off" came from "first of all". I.e. of all the points I'm about to make, this is the first.

Photo of some duck poop tea I had the other day in China (for anyone curious what this looks like in the real world): https://imgur.com/a/R5h6482 It just tasted like a normal ice lemon tea with oolong.

Totally agree. It's kind of annoying that we don't even have a system like this for the researchers at the labs!

This seems wild to me. Can you share examples of the complexity of the emails people are coding by hand? This sounds like a pretty amazing art form if people are building cross-client compatible, rich, modern email designs with tables and i

Amen. I stopped using Reddit when their new website got released a few years back. Not for any ideological reason, just because their new anti-user patterns killed my enjoyment there. I've never been happier having stopped using it!

Yep fair points. I should say, given this is hackernews there's every chance you might know the person who made this and if you are coming at it from something like this angle, I can understand your frustration. The site is a nice idea

I found during my preview months ago that it would often write bugs that took me longer to correct than if I had written it myself. Has it gotten better? Also in the situation where it suggests x[i+1] and it's wrong, doesn't that
