A crude way would be to send an email to #@carrier.tld (e.g. 1234567890@verizon.net) and it will be converted to SMS by the carrier.

This is a really great project! I can think of two things would make it better, but both are beyond your control. 1. Use Hipmunk's (nonexistent at the moment) API and show the least agonizing flight of each day. 2. Somehow include Southwest

The Tor nodes are not anonymous, so nobody expects users of a Tor node to run their own...they're trying to be anonymous.

Neither method really works for Jazz, though. Sometimes, the group would have a name, but many times, only one person's name is on the album cover. But, some great musicians never fronted a band, and none of them are bandleaders for their w

Wait, what? My original comment got at least one upvote, and then my edit ("For example:..."), that was meant to clarify what I was saying, is getting downvotes. Can someone explain? I'm not trying to disagree with the OP in general (you ca

I think that this argument is much stronger than your original one, and in fact, one that I would make myself. Although I still don't see how it helps your firewall example, because I can't understand how circumventing a firewall can be con

I think it's worth pointing out that not only is the argument logically incorrect, it's based on incorrect facts. For example: A: "Lisp sucks. If it didn't, we'd see it winning contests or something" B: "But it has been used to win a contes

The one major improvement I can think of would be if the screen could deform itself and make actual, raised buttons. Then it would be even more of a dedicated device towards whatever application you were running.

Yes, and the "X can be used for bad" argument you put forward is one that could be used against any advance in technology, with or without open standards or APIs. And your firewall example is not relevant. Hackers aren't using firewalls aga

Is "plenty of things" enough to post a link to some? Do you practice any of these things? Otherwise, your comment does not add much to the discussion (and hence the down votes, I think).

I bought the book, but I don't think that it being a placebo is the only danger. What if it has negative effects on your way of thinking? What if it has no effect for most people? What if it has a negative effect (e.g. on people with low se

You haven't heard of ConsumerReports.org? Edit: go ahead and make decisions based on whatever criteria you feel is appropriate. Nobody has the time to read peer-reviewed journals on everything, and at some point you have to rely on the reco

The approach taken in writing the book was not scientific. There were no studies to determine if the phrases and methodology actually work better than a placebo (whatever that would be...lorem ipsum?). It's possible that this approach is no
