This is a tangent, but the post reminded me of this. I've done quite a bit of cold-emailing to reach new mentors and new clients. One of the things I started doing a couple years ago was to offer buying someone I was cold-emailing a &q

I sent this to the blog author, but then felt maybe someone else might get something from reading it. My offer stands for everyone here. Most of us are going through or have gone through this same struggle eloquently written in this post. I

Congrats on getting something out there! One thing I'm always most cautious about this is what do we really know? I can give you some advice about what I think you could do better, but I don't run a restaurant, and those are the c

I hear you. And you are definitely right. It can be intimidating. Those cold calls, I still can't get the nerves out when I've done those. But emails, you don't actually have to feel any rejection :) I have never gotten someo

Thanks a ton for the comment on this and reading the article! But see, I don't think motivating someone to help you is really that hard. As I mentioned in there, there are so many places where there's oodles of people who'd l

One thing I'll probably cover in the future is one of the things that have made these cold emails and random meetings successful is simply being clear about what I want. I've made the mistake many times of simply saying "I&#x

I use Stripe for Draft, and I know I'm losing money. I get emails everyday from people outside the US who can't use a credit card or they don't trust any vendor with their CC. I'm probably going to have to add Paypal too

Smoke/Carbon Monoxide detectors have been an enormous issue for me. Many of the detectors that use a 9V battery backup have a poorly designed chamber holding the battery. Often the battery doesn't make good contact with the metal

Thanks for the comment. I might not understand though yet. Tracer bullets does track the elapsed time in between each section. Are you saying it's more useful sometimes to track a cumulative total of the elapsed time for each of these

That's a good question. I've used ruby-prof before, but for me that requires a cognitive load and steps I don't always want to preform in many situations. This just seems simpler. Install gem, sprinkle tb's in my code, a
