The branding here I think is a big issue. The name "Rocky Linux" sounds too homebrew and unprofessional. CentOS sounds Enterprise-ish. I find it hard to believe any corporate client would take it seriously.

Target made two mistakes. The first was making a deal to lease all the former Zellers locations, which was too many to handle at the start. The second, was to rely on their US-based logistics software that wasn't capable of handling

The same advice applies to screens as well. Lots more than Netflix out there.

I met my current partner in February and honestly, the pandemic has been fantastic for us in getting to know each other quickly. Basically we could only hang out with each other and we couldn't go out, so it was like a relationship on

From my experience in the adult industry, the processor cared more about the total than the percentage.

The individual processors are the ones who care about chargebacks, not VISA itself. So by spreading the processing among several of them, the number of chargebacks per processor are lower. It's load balancing.

It spreads the chargebacks across multiple processors, who don't talk to each other so don't know about the chargebacks on the other processors.

All the porn companies have innocuous real company names like WebClicks or Vintara - nothing that would set off alarms on a resume. Pay was generally well above average to counteract the adult nature of the work.

I've been a pico (nee nano) user since the 90s. I've always hated VI. So, lots of technical people avoid hard interfaces.

I worked at a place that had virtually zero internal systems, including version control, and relied heavily on Github in particular for things like access control, beyond just source control. One of their remote devs had his Github account

I've found that it's incompatible with the PostGIS extension due to version differences. I'm still on 9.5 because I can't afford the downtime to properly migrate.

ELK could handle that workload pretty well and isn't too hard to set up. Plus you get a nice web interface. But I still find myself logging in and grepping for things.

YNAB is amazing but the monthly fee is a bit much, since it's forever. Personally I use YNAB4 which is a standalone app and I don't use the cloud services, so it was a "pay once" app. For those interested in an alternat

I'm currently in the process of building a laneway suite building on my existing Toronto lot, which is typical of the city - 25 feet wide by 160 feet long. There's a driveway and a laneway at the back. I spent two years and $25,0

On the topic, why does it matter what physical hours you work? If the job is getting done, what does it matter? This way of thinking seems like a holdout from the industrial revolution when physical tasks needed to be done in manufacturing
