Sure all these problems are important to address. But often there is a lack of time/interest to do it. I think the PHP project should simply delete the 5.6 image, since it is insecure and EOL'ed. Then if somebody is interested the

In theory, yes. However as the Germans say "the devil is in the details". The .patch file for magento 1 for PHP7 compatibility is around 1.9 MB (iirc)! In the standard PHP5 project you have literally millions of lines of third par

Somebody should fork PHP 5.6. There is a lot of Software still depending on it and it is unrealistic to expect companies to migrate millions of lines of third party code to PHP 7.

Reading the article, this has a werner herzogian vibe to it. I wonder how it compares to aquirre - that film certainly has its delerious moments. I love gilliam and brazil and twelve monkeys are among my favorite films.

I think you are right. I also worked on a bill-tracking software and one of the first things we noticed is that each company has their own way of rounding totals. There is no one correct way. For example one company rounds each line to thre

Yes that's something the author does not explain well. sql is not a normal function but a special template "handler" with fixed parameters.

It can be used for escaping values for example var query = sql`select * from user where id=${id}` Similar for html, preventing injection. You just need to implement the corresponding functions. For example https://github.com/

Already on the getting started page I see something that looks almost like possible SQL injection: https://docs.lucee.org/guides/getting-started/first-steps.ht... I hope I'm wrong?

VueJS with CouchDb. Especially for prototypes you end up rewriting everything multiple times. With classical orm-sql you lose way too much time with writing the boilerplate.

What would you recommend as CI solution for gitea? I'm looking for something that's self hosted, foss and does not require an admin to set it up for every project. GitLab offers this, but I haven't found anything that compete
