Gerrit is pretty crap compared to critique. It has a workflow that works for Android, but critique is really much better.

Side note: Go's GC will still run without allocations, typically every 10 minutes. But, in your case, it might never find memory to collect. If you truly want to disable the GC, use SetGCPercent or GOGC.

A sister comment to mine gives you one strategy, but you can also use the first stringer as a template to the rest.

Aside: Building stairs that way is a really bad idea. Don't use angle brackets – you cut stringers. And besides the first and last step, stringers are pretty straightforward to layout with a carpenter's square with some stair guid

I worked on Go at Google for a couple of years. First of all, I can't really parse your question, but I'll try to answer what I think you're asking. Go isn't hated at Google – there's just a lot of other code in oth

Which is arguably exactly why Linus should communicate more thoughtfully. While it might be okay for him and the culture around him, this style might NOT work for others. As such, it's better to default to a more constructive approach.

I hate stuff like this. My personal main gripe is with BJs. If you decline to automatically renew, they continue to ask you. I want to run for office to pass a law that makes it a requirement to remember I've opted out of crap.

It's not virtue signaling – it's true regret. I consider my 2 years at FB a mistake. I knew it from the moment I started that I had made an error, and that I needed to do the 2 years and then leave. What do I really care what stra

I used to work for Facebook (I regret it). I didn't work at Menlo, but I would travel there often. One time, leaving main campus by Uber, my driver, a young 20-something girl was talking about how she wanted to get a job moderating at

I worked on the Go compiler for a couple of years, and it wasn't a big deal. We just thought carefully about things, and dealt with a lot of rejection of ideas. If we couldn't make it fit, it wasn't right, and we'd try a

The blog post states that the author will no longer be speaking at RustConf 2023 about a possible future for compile-time programming. The decision came after a call with RustConf organizers, during which the organizers informed the author

Gen X has always been screwed. There's never been enough of us to matter demographically. The boomers have us boxed in before us, and Gen-Y/Millenials after.

I've heard back from emailing, but it's useless. They say, "take screen shots". Of WHAT? Of it saying, "it's failed"? There's no error code, nothing. As other posters in thread have said, we're a

I have tried repeatedly to move my old account over, and it didn't work. No error code, just fails silently after the second step. Emails to MSFT have gotten responses, but no ROI has happened as a result. This is par for the course fo

From your description of the bug, I think even know which compiler you worked on. I worked on a competitors compiler. The state of embedded tools in the lates 90s and early 2000s was deplorable. I'm surprised we got anything working. (
