The Seek app is one of those things that you can show people and they think it is magic, even in this day and age. I got my mom and my grandma using it!

This is reminding me a lot of participating in and running the ACM chapter at my university. I miss those days of being surrounded by bright, interested people working on whatever sounded fun at the time.

Qualia is your subjective experience of your senses - how can we discuss whether we see the color red the same way, or whether we smell a rose the same way? The core concept we would discuss is qualia. Qualia is not plural qualities so I’m

The fact is that this person did not use the word alien in their original "joke" - they wrote "That's assuming Einstein was even human." They then proceeded to act like a bully or abuser would act - "Oh, it was

A food scientist came to my high school and did a similar demonstration with us - except with different flavors of koolaid. Students reported red as cherry, purple as grape ... but they were actually the same flavor and only differed in col

I don’t think you’re arguing in good faith as “out of this world” did not appear until this comment. This would be similar to calling Einstein a cow, then waiting an hour to say it’s because he’s outstanding in his field.

Counterpoint: I fact checked and corrected an article - the original article author misread the cited source and claimed statistics that were plausible but incorrect. In the process I improved the readability of the paragraph I touched up.

9% of women with tinnitus attempt suicide, or 9% of women that attempt suicide have tinnitus? I find it curious since I've had tinnitus since I was very young and it isn't life wrecking - but maybe that's because it is just p

FTC/FCC are supposed to protect people from misleading stuff like this and level the playing field so that companies can remain competitive without resorting to dark patterns because their competitors are.

Hmm. I would expect them to have layers of security, with one of those layers being funds in a cold wallet with serious access control around it. If I were asked to insure them, the premiums and coverage would hinge on security layers and m

Yes, but I only mentioned state tax. Are I Bonds subject to state income tax? The lack of state tax on T-bills was a great loophole for emergency fund growth a few years ago until yields dropped around the start of COVID.

I would argue that there is a difference between low effort bulk spam and what OP received. The message OP received sounds like a fairly tailored request for expert advice, which is a great way to make $100+/hr to answer questions. If
