This trend will go on, other 3rd world countries will do the same. The term "3rd world" is a bit outdated (it's from the Cold War to describe neutral and non-aligned countries) and is derogatory. It would be more accurate to say India is

I remember reading an article a few years ago by (I think) a novelist who envisioned that in the future we'd store our entire computing system online and just switch between devices, always having access to our environment and files. Whethe

The fact that DDG is listed as a choice for search engines in Firefox is a huge boon for DDG. I never would use it until I took the step to make it the default search in Firefox. It is great 80% of the time and the other 20% I just prepen

I am bewildered by the amount of character typography experts seem to be able to discern from (what to me are) these plain little serif-less monotone Latin characters that litter our screens. I do notice when things are very wrong, but I'm

If all ad-supported sites went down tomorrow, the Internet would still work fine and there would still be content. Just not as much.

I don't really see the problem here. Look at LEGO's product page: http://www.lego.com/en-us/products/default.aspx They have tons of theme kits. This is just one product line that has some pink and purple crap in it. If your daughter wants

Does this app grab the files from Wikipedia directly? It doesn't seem very nice to create an app that pulls down gigabytes of data from a web service you do not own nor have permission from. EDIT: It appears my concern was unwarranted.

The GPL is a complex license so here are some rules of thumb when using the GPL: you can charge as much as you want for distributing, supporting, or documenting the software, but you cannot sell the software itself. I don't believe this

I am absolutely floored by the amount of lunacy in this post. Congratulations, swombat, you blew my mind. It feels like I have rewritten this comment a thousand times because I just don't know how to respond.
