When the public (read: the political body) needs to be convinced that this kind of exploration and research is worth the money, then a little nationalism is bound to creep in. It's brown-nosing, at worst.

This was my main take-away: "There is one morality tale that says the debtor must repay, or she has sinned and must be punished. There is another morality tale that says the creditor must invest wisely, or she has stewarded resources p

This reminds me of one of Richard Feynman's famous quotes: “We are trying to prove ourselves wrong as quickly as possible, because only in that way can we find progress.” Indeed, discovering these "broken" edge cases is exact

For me this quickly became "spot the photoshop artifact". I only noticed it clearly for one photo and did marginally better than average (58% -- some guesses were way off) Still very fun.

Like most CSS tooling, this is a treatment for a symptom of an underlying disease: the inherently global nature of CSS[1]. Rather than "blob" all your CSS together, and then "de-blob" it, why not build your CSS dynamic

Wow I just posted about this[1] as some hypothetical "dream feature" but it already exists. I don't use iTerm2 (or OS X, for that matter), but I'm wondering now if other terminals support it in some way or another... [1]

Related: It would be great if your terminal were just clever enough to identify paths and allow you to click on them to open them. Many do this for http:// links, but not fs links. Bonus: include <line>:<column> in t

What is this moonspeak? Modern web apps do so much more than what this proposal is trying to solve. React + Relay/GraphQL is much more likely to be the next real big step forward on the horizon of web/app development.
