I'm by no mean an expert in passwords/cyrpto and the like but it sounds to me that his idea of generating passwords from the service name and a master password is a good bad idea. Basically, his passwords are made of two variable strings: o

Well, I can see a company about to sink (RIM) and leaving a big empty space for a smart move here. If twitter can take that space and provide enterprises and people along a way to exchange encrypted messages painlessly, that'll be perfect.

Don't be rude and I won't. Also reading my sentence in its context will help. The parent thread read "Linux was a kernel that the GNU project added well after both projects were underway". I was highlighting the fact that GNU is not respons

The whole website is a PR/FUD base for Mark Logic. Check their Wikipedia page too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MarkLogic I guess they're tyring "to fully utilize the potential of the internet".

Regarding Javascript, I think it suits well the async paradigm because that's how people expect Javascript to be. Why isn't Javascript a good server-side language?

Agreed. But even "not calling input and output transforms" is incorrect. JSON, just like XML or the next thing we will come up with, has to be parsed to be any use. This may happen under the hood but this is still happening. I guess what

I'm not sure you should provide ETL capabilities.. Usually, ETL and visualization are separate steps in the workflow and sometimes even in a team. If it's too limited in scope it won't be very useful anyway.

I know very little about the economy in the UK and I'm curious to understand why you say that your economy is closer to that of the US than that of France or Germany (or any other EU economy for that matter).
