Cricket has a much, much bigger audience globally than Ice Hockey - there's a lot of Europeans, Australians, South Africans and Indians on HN who have likely never seen a hockey game :-) It's also not so much of a team game - cric

Adioso ( http://www.adioso.com ) seems quite good in that regard. I've had contact with one of the developers from submitting a bug report and they're very friendly and seem on the ball.

Really? You read 'world-devouring octopus' and thought that not only have US scientists discovered Cthulhu, but they've decided to launch him into space to ride on a satellite? You really believed that? Life for you must be m

There's also the fact that if a 1x programmer gets forced out the market, the 10x programmers become 1x programmers (by the definition of a 1x programmer) and the 100x programmers become 10x programmers...

The article is light on conclusions and full of fluff. This has nothing to do with chimps. A chimp is used as an example of an agent selecting at random...as a rhetorical device it obscures the author's point and simply confuses the re

Generally speaking, high quality people won't take a short-term contracting gig. They are probably working elsewhere and don't need that level of uncertainty; they're looking for something better , not just anything.
