I saw this too and found it to be a bummer. Does it work with Gmail contacts if you log in? I hope they'll integrate the local iOS address book with the next version.

This app is fantastic. And now I can finally upgrade to iOS 6. Thanks Google Maps team!

This has finally made me use collections appropriately, and man does it make things fast.

Am I missing it, or can anonymous gists no longer be claimed and deleted by the person that created them while still in the session?

Tying philosophy to usefulness in STEM disciplines is a terrible idea. Reading Kant doesn't "too much respect for failed philosophical methods"--if you read him properly it helps teach solid thinking that might even lead you to reject some

I only switched from t-mobile because my unlocked phone couldn't use 3G on their network. It'll be very, very tempting to go back if they have decent coverage these days. It doesn't seem clear that unsubsidized iPhone can work in the US, bu

Does one have to make the _yourusername_.github.com repo first for this to work? My understanding is that the Pages feature is only activated by doing this.

Since the picture is described as "inside a building designed to look like a Roman Colosseum", I think the viewer can probably figure that out.

It's really interesting that Bootstrap is becoming another layer of abstraction to be found in a lot of projects, like jQuery before it. So far I'm pretty sure that's not a bad thing.

Definitely prefer this to the default modal, which blacks out the screen around it. I'll have to run some tests to see if any version of IE can handle this.

I'm not sure why this is gifting "pirates" only. Doesn't this work for people who legitimately bought Windows 7 too?

I really wanted to like this, but Google is still tops for its location database. Maybe Nokia and the other non-Google players can band together to address this, because I don't see how anyone will catch up otherwise. It's also strange to m

That's true, although it seems like a lot of those apps might not use MapKit in a way where its use is a problem, right? Apple's maps probably works okay if you already know where you're trying to go. It's location and directions and such t

It's kind of interesting that we've almost developed an expectation of JavaScript being simple. It's easy to forget what a pain it was to write cross-browser JS even 5 years ago. I like this progress.

The tilted 3D view has the same sort of skewing that Apple's new maps app has. Anyone know what it might be about the algorithms that make them do that?

I kind of buy the 20 grams thing, actually. When I went to look at the iPhone 5 I noticed it felt lighter and discovered that it's only 28 grams lighter. Still, the surface didn't feel particularly heavy to me and I use iPad every day. It's

I guess this is the other side of the coin as far as their brashly-use-trademarks-and-sort-it-out-later methods go. Not a bad track record though.
