While I personally really enjoy jokes I agree that they can add a lot of noise in online communities. I'd love to find a bunch of other "serious only" communities for other topics I enjoy, I'd then read the no-jokes ones

Years ago there was this elephant at the zoo pacing at his enclosure. I spent 30 minutes watching, and while it didn't explicitly mention anything about feeling existential dread or despair, it certainly looked like it did.

I do have a plan B. The software engineer, the marketing guy and the maybe system architect of 10 years in the future are all the same person: me using AI tools.
