I fonud the following Wikipedia section somewhat useful for understanding the context here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bouba/kiki_effect#Implications... Annoyingly, very few of the citations are accessible. But

Those figures are from the 1970s, when presumably there was a lot more low-hanging fruit. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if they invest a decent chunk into computation aerodynamical work as part of their body design.

In my experience many highly competitive people care mostly about the win itself, and less about the how.

Thanks for the reply. The use case I have in mind is joining onto an INT primary key using a foreign key column of another table. This alone would remove a massive amount of boilerplate code.

I've used SQL for around a decade and also never came across it. I'm maintaining SQL code with hundreds if not thousands of basic primary key joins and this could make those queries way more concise. Now I want to know the reasons

Whenever someone complains about being treated "worse than dogs" I have to wonder how they think dogs should be treated. To be fair, if dogs could catch COVID and pass it onto humans they'd likely have banned unvaccinated dog

One thing worth noting is that Anarres in The Dispossessed has a population of only around 20 million. It's not actually that much bigger than revolutionary Catalonia was - maybe 2-3 times the population?

I'll bear it in mind, thanks. Fwiw The Martian Chronicles are effectively a bunch of short stories and I did read it in paperback. But come to think of it I read Fahrenheit 451 many years ago and distantly remember enjoying it.
