Isn't the state (apps' data in this case) the biggest problem with updates of any kind? State can't be immutable and is the easiest to break. I can certainly see how containerizing apps and using "layered" FS solves

If you don't mind using m.2 drives, check out Beelink ME Mini. The m.2 drives are going to be limited by the PCIe 3.0 x1 bus [1], but you get a very neat and small appliance-like box that can handle home storage workloads really well.

Getting into S3 myself and really curious about what Garage has to offer vs the more mature alternatives like Minio. From what I gather, it kinda works better with small (a few kilobytes) files or something?

I've read that PBS requires fast (NVME-fast) storage and a decent CPU to handle incremental backups efficiently. What speeds do you get when restoring backups?

Has anyone tried the hosted models? How do they compare to GPT-5? I was thinking about trying ChatGPT Pro, but I seem to have completely missed that they bumped the price from $100 to $200. It was $100 just a while ago, right? Before GPT-5,

There is nothing about collaborating with Russian government in the post. They merely make use of a Russian-based search engine to provide better search results. I won't argue if this is good or bad, but from your statement it sounds l

This can't be right. How are they still afloat? Actually, that's the question (or rather the feeling) I had even before seeing these numbers. Just by reading the docs and looking at everything they built (and how they built it) ma

Huh. Was curious what kind of discount they provide in case of downtime caused by hardware failure, but it sounds like they didn't even notice. Shouldn't they monitor the basic vitals? Or you simply reacted too quickly?

The concerns are valid, but I'd like to point out that managing all that isn't as frightening as it sounds. If you do small scale (we're talking self-hosted git here after all), all these are either non-issue or a one-time
