I always see this idea on HN that a library, website, framework should be marketing itself for mass appeal and adoption. this is made for people building rendering engines on top of. if you are the software engineer with the knowledge neces

I get it. less diversity of thought means more echo chambers. you're saying that fundamentally these platforms will fail to be the town squares they want to be by doing that. and I'm saying that most people do not want a town squa

the screenshot could/should probably be better, but that doesn't mean the library is incapable of producing higher quality renders. I haven't dug in, but I am assuming this is basically Meta's WGPU. if so, these sorts of

using big words doesn’t make this intellectual. people want to make jokes and have light hearted conversations with others without hatred spewing everywhere. it’s pretty simple.

Why? There are so many accessible synths. Why does every brand have to cater to the lowest common denominator?

that'd be more of a choice by the service operator than a design detail of passkeys, right?

hm. I guess these are the early days for the industry where providers are figuring this stuff out. I won't be surprised to see them add that. yes, you can lose keys, even (especially) if they are digital!

if you're someone who uses a password manager already, and is generating unique random passwords for every website, the only appreciable difference between a passkey and what you do today is: - the passkey is never transmitted anywhere

Apple famously dropped the price of the first iPhone by $200 (a 33% reduction from $599 to $399!) two months after launch; then gave people who bought it in that time a $100 credit. https://web.archive.org/web/200709082
