Ansible can very easily, and often does, end up in situations where two runs of the same playbook both have drastically different results. roles/playbooks slowly become Bash scripts written in a YAML layer parsed as a Jinja2 template..

Congratulations to the team for a monumental release! The significance of the changes involved to ship 0.12 seems understated. This release paves the path to implement many highly requested features and fixes. Most noteworthy of which, in m

I had the same thought, but I still find that absurd. Say they host 500,000 websites with HTTPS. 1,000,000 renewals they save spread across the year, roughly 2 renewals a minute. That is pennies. A t2.medium could handle that type of load i

Just curious, are you talking about Webflow? Because I had to hunt down and make sure our Let's Encrypt auto renewal was working until I realized the certificate was served by them. They wait until the last 12 hours to renew the certif

I am building a VFIO build this weekend. one of the goals is to power a macOS VM for work. if I remember I will update you on my experience. I had success getting macOS running on QEMU with my existing PC, but its performance suffered witho

you're missing my point. many ads "work", and even in a perfect world where I only see the ads that "work" for me, that doesn't mean I want to see them.

this is just not true, and only describes a very specific subset of advertisement. for a very large portion of ads, the advertisers want people to see it even if it doesn't translate to a direct sale of something the user already wante

how do you do password management? I setup Sway/qutebrowser last week and love it, but the lack of password management extensions was crippling. I reverted to Firefox + Vimium, which has been a subpar experience to qutebrowser. from wh

This makes me think it is exactly the kind of attitude that makes StackOverflow unfriendly. Your concern is valid but your post feels accusatory and dismissive.

it unfortunately undermines the message of the post for me. it just feels like another case of absolutism, fighting fire with fire, by the One True engineer who knows The Solution.

This is (one of) the big reason our team is moving over to Keycloak. It has full support for token exchange/impersonation and has a full audit trail along with it. You can get very granular about who can impersonate who.

I did, and I found out it's actually not as hard as you would think. I think I even prefer FastMail's web client. Register your own domain, own the address, and then future migrations are way easier.

That was not what I was suggesting. Fact of the matter is that it is easier to get it right the first time in the browser you work in than the browser you don’t. A growing backlog of Chrome bugs and a shrinking backlog of Firefox/whate

Really, the most important thing is to control the domain, so that changing the provider later is not a big deal. I've been using FastMail and it is great, but the hardest part was moving away from @gmail.com

Websites work best in the browsers that the developers use to build it, and that will be the only way Chrome can fail.

1Password now has a browser extension that runs the entire application in browser, which means you can use a dedicated password manager across all operating systems with a proper security model. Check out the 1Password X extension.
