I personally think this is insane, and I would love to know why it didn’t pan out. There are other interesting things in that article too.

Thanks. I’ve been thinking about doing something like this for a while, and I was thinking that it could be a program that runs locally, scrapes the search result pages, re-ranks them, and then makes an html page and opens it in a web brows

In my experience google still seems to have the broadest collection, so I use it when I have a search that doesn’t return many results. Usually I use duckduckgo, but mostly out of habit. It has the same results as bing, and I’m dubious as t

So I’m pretty sure that you are making fake comments to try to boost this, which is behavior that I find unsavory. Is the actual website a scam though, or is it something neat that you actually put work into? Can you give me some interestin

You aren’t very good at making comments that don’t look like sock puppetry. At this point it’s becoming very silly

You used to be able to add “&num=100” to the url of a google search, and it would show 100 results per page.

No problem. You might consider using data from the Common Crawl to boost your index size. If you get the extracted text files (called WET instead of WARC), they don’t take up much space. I have one from 2014 that has about 73’000 pages in i

That’s pretty cool. How many pages do you have in your database so far? Also since you are working on a search engine, I would recommend reading this article: https://archive.org/details/search-timeline

I found this article a while back, but I don’t know the details because I haven’t paid to read the article. You might be able to find more details on the same story from a different source, I don’t know. https://www.404media.co&#
