And you still need to find and download the model files yourself, among other steps, which is intimidating enough to drive away most users, including skilled software engineers. Most people just want it to work and start using it for

I wonder if anyone has used Jane Street's open source OCaml libraries and tools for somewhat serious projects. I took a brief look at these things, and my impression is that their stuff isn't "ready" for anyone outside J

That's the naiveity of software engineers. They can't see their limitations and think everything is just a technical problem. No, work is never the core problem. Backlog of bug fixes/enhancements is rarely what determines the

I think the article made it very clear that there is a distinction between an arrest and a conviction. But I guess it's very easy for you to write such a comment without ever establishing that the person is actually guilty, as if, in d

Just finished Kara Swisher's Burn Book today, in which she says she does not report on such scoops unless personal matters have a repeated pattern or could affect a company's stock. It never occurred to me that there is such a cho

I am not a power user by any means. In fact I use Word and Excel maybe no more than 5 times a year for both professional and personal use. Yet I quickly run into things that are not well supported in other word processor/spreadsheet ap

My hot take: productivity on VR is not and will never be a thing, at least in the current heavy, bulky form. There won't be more than a few hardcore enthusiasts who can make use of it. It is made up by Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook. VR
