They had no real GUI in the 70ies, it was a terminal with mouse control. The GUI comes at the end of the 70ies, beginning 80ies and the guys from Apple came over, at that time, to see the concepts and prototyps. From there, they started the

Why another notebook? Well, I feel happier to divide the systems physically. You know what to do on the one system and you know what you do on the other. Those are toys, so main motivation is fun I would guess. :D When reading your post, I

As the logic boards have to fit in the designs created by Ivy and team, and as far as I know, they design logic boards for themselves. You can say, Intel describes how the components are connected, but the physical layout should be done by

I consider getting a second notebook for Win and Linux because sometimes you have to work with them. I love Thinkpads for having a Zen influence (just like Apples hardware) and it's sturdiness. Vaios look awesome but sometimes they get the

Gestures are really nice. Switching spaces with swipes is very nice. Also having Mission Control for an overview makes things a lot easier. What I miss when having to deal with Windows, is to, spread my work like I do on OS X. Also, I miss

Vaio notebooks are nice, I had one before my MBP, but they lack the little problem called Windows. But when forced to, I would choose a Vaio or a Thinkpad (depends on model). Both know what they do.

Actually, no. iOS 4 was designed for the iPhone 4. 3G getting it was bonus, and in the end, they fixed the bugs. And when you say something like that, how about no Android 2.3+ for the biggest part of Android phones out there?

Some words to the people comparing the GMail app with Ping, MobileMe, Final Cut, Antenna problem, Battery time etc. (and please start to make precise distinctions here, not everything is that bad, like the GMail app). These are not Apples c

Now I see what you mean, but I wouldn't say your source is reliable. I can see where your opinion comes from, but you should consider more sources. Most of those points are either incorrect or don't take into account what the goal of all co

You are a pretty big fool, believing Apple is to blame for pricing in the iTunes Store. The content providers set the prices, not Apple. They just distribute and take a small share. And how is Apple dominating my computer? I have no clue wh

(I think some of the current mobile stuff comes from the ubiquitous computing research that PARC did.) They (Apple) deserve the credit for bringing those concepts to a lot of people. And obviously it is true that interacting with objects/ic

Maybe Steve imagined something like the European system. You go to school until 5/6pm but you do your whole homework in school and the afternoon is for that and other activities to broaden the mind. Otherwise, that's a stupid idea. In Germa

Almost all of you forget what the costumers want. That is to play games on the device they carry around the whole day. A handheld is as good as a big console. The phone in your pocket is the market. And quality and fun matters on an iPhone
