Looks like this might have been a side effect of seeking an alternate pad design with 5V tolerance...

See https://github.com/Wren6991/Hazard3/tree/stable/test for the test harnesses used. I wonder if they did release all they used there.

It comes with a lot of flexibility that the equivalent AMDX extension doesn't have, including being able to queue graphics shaders, not compute ones only. As far as I can see, unnecessary latency isn't actually a problem.

VK_NV_device_generated_commands(_compute), which is already implemented by RADV in Mesa, and is much older than VK_AMDX_shader_enqueue. The X suffix means that it's not a stable API and should not be used by shipped code.

No, they _are_ tested during manufacturing. > Honestly, this is where I'd love RISC-V to be making inroads A 32-bit CPU is way too big for this price point still.

This has nothing to do with Windows RT. Every Windows on ARM64 desktop/laptop device has an unlockable bootloader.

Arm SystemReady SR/ES assumes sane ACPI tables. That's something that Snapdragon X (1st-gen) very much doesn't have. The ACPI tables present there are pretty much only usable for Windows if you want full functionality. Yeah E

Out of the box that's true. The system firmware will ship with 3 boot modes selectable via the setup interface: - Windows (this one has the Windows tcblauncher escalated to EL2 through Secure Launch) - Linux (this one stays at EL1) - L

You'll have EL2 on Snapdragon X Elite. If it's using the design that I prototyped while at Qualcomm, it's jumping to EL2 at ExitBootServices when the boot to Linux at EL2 option is enabled. Didn't look at a release firmw

Why vendor lock-in? It even uses the same CPU core as Graviton4, so it's clearly quite a fungible offering to me.

Performance per dollar and per watt of IBM machines are wholly out of step with the market. As such, there's no motivation to re-use those machines after migration off z/OS or other IBM solutions anyway...
