Devils advocate - it may be that Stanford is punishing the act of taking a picture and distributing it, rather than reading the book. I was thinking of reading Mein Kampf (I've never read it), but I'd never think to pose in front

All I can say is that once you get to a certain level of wealth, money really is just a means to an end. The fact that they have less doesn't matter if they get their ends, one of which in this case is substantial influence over whatev

In that vein I highly recommend Foundations and Fundamental Concepts of Mathematics by Howard Eves. I think it might be a little dated, but it gives an amazing overview of the most important developments in mathematics that were relevant at

Tragic few are waking up at 7am to provide clean beds, food and water. And if they were able to use that system, there's incentive to maintain it. I feel like so many people who work fast food do so because it literally provides them w

From my understanding C is really nonchalant about this. The resistance is mostly from the OS side. I'm sure with C++ it's more complicated, but not impossible. With Rust it gets really funny. You have to subscribe to a completely

Inb4 this thread gets carcinized - While it does sound like Bjarne is being a bit of a sore loser of some popularity contest, he's still right in that exactly memory safety is too specific of an idea to be meaningful in the long term.

I'd assume cache locality makes it worthwhile, especially if the keys are big, point to big things that need to move, or live on separate drives. To that last point I'd wager stable algorithms can imply parallelization.

I think you're confusing understanding with intuition. Which is fair; I'd say understanding builds to intuition as it's accessed more. The line is blurry at points.
