The time frame in question doesn't seem that big. There were probably not that much large breakers and the they both chose the peak of one with the best conditions. So maybe a 1:100 to 1:10.000 chance. I'm more amazed, that they w

I'm guilty of 90% retweets or so, but have a general low output rate including them. So I made a policy of retweet only things, that people who follow me wouldn't see anyway. Like 10+ people overlap. For me it's distinctively

My pet theory is, that it's all about the exposure to the realities of other people in daily life, not through warped representations in the media. Population density correlates well with political preferences[1]. That regions don'

How can you be so sure? Patrol shifts are normally rotated to prevent exactly that among other reasons, while someone having a regular non-patrol late shift (or early) and doing his exercise regularly at 3 am is also not unheard of.

These are most most certainly not patrol routes, but routes taken by people in their off duty time or in mandatory fitness time.

The US did audits and actually issued 20000 + 2000 Fitbits at minimum in trial programs. Strava is the least of their problems. Despite all news articles in the last day I didn't come a cross a single previously unknown site mentioned

Color calibration is a chain, you need to know if your camera is calibrated too, so you need at least standardized targets, finding random objects of known color that cover the whole color space sufficiently is not trival, only then you cou

Would rather see something like WebCL back in development for general purpose GPU computation, most importantly deep learning, on the web, then the Xth attempt on superseeding WebGL. Funneling things through WebGL just doesn't feel rig

I often happen to search for things in multiple intervals. Often the top results are obsolete, since they are more than a year old. What drove me nut's, is that their QA didn't catch the bug with the date format order for years. I
