These are neo-nazis buying products from a neo-nazi publication that happens to use Shopify for their online store. They're not going to opt-in to an ACLU donation. What the GGP is proposing is that Shopify take their cut of the transa

I am still on the journey to wholesale container acceptance, but I have been finding more and more use-cases that are delightfully solved by them. My favorite so far is a WordPress hosting platform with some shared infrastructure (web serve

I am merely pointing out the flaw in your argument that the Trump administration's order is in any way acceptable simply because they're working off the same list of countries that the Obama administration used for a past order.

I have not. The whole purpose of an architecture like this is to turn WordPress into a glorified static site generator, so it doesn't particularly matter how fast (or slow) the application server is. At any rate, I thought PHP 7 was ab

I recently wrote up my Caddy+Varnish+PHP-FPM solution for WordPress[0]. It's fairly complementary to the steps detailed in the OP. The site absolutely flies now: 50-75ms response times cf. 200-300ms per Google, A+ on SSL Labs cf. unenc

If a company is grossing $20MM/year and stands to improve that by more than 0.75% by having a faster site, then yes, it makes sense to spend 0.75% of your revenue to do so.

Right. It's quite the opposite of GP's sarcastic remark: founders want their employees to value their equity highly so they don't have to pay them as much. The advice in this thread is contrary to this. But yes, I've s

The point is that an entry-level engineer can make $200K at e.g. Uber (think $120K base + $80K equity), so for a newish company (with near-worthless equity, per the advice in this thread) to match that, they would have to pay $200K base.

The solution to this is SRS[0], but yes, not every mail-forwarder implements this (correctly), and it seems to break DKIM. The good news is that an SPF soft-fail and a DKIM pass usually means a DMARC pass. More information here[1]. 0. http

Running without DKIM/DMARC exposes your domain to a suite of spoofing attacks that aren't mitigable by SPF alone. A spammer can send mail "from" your domain and over time this activity may lessen the reputation of your d

I'm envisioning some kind of caching forward proxy for git. Point your clones/fetches at it and it will proxy the connection to the source fork. If the source fork is down, it will serve its cached copy of the fork. I found this[0
