Les Paul has been a personal hero of mine since I was a kid. It's really sad to see him go, but at least we can continue to enjoy all of the wonderful creations and creative spirit that he brought into the worlds of music and engineering.

I don't think most newspapers would ever do this, because almost all newspaper revenue comes from paid print advertisements. They're afraid of undercutting themselves. Whether that's a rational fear, I'm not sure.

It wasn't a question, it was a statement. You're a racist. It's become painfully obvious after reading your comments over the last several months. You can accept that or not. I just thought it was worth losing karma to confront you with

I've never understood this mindset. Don't conservative types like you believe in market influences? How could spending more money NOT improve education levels? Just a couple of examples off the top of my head: 1) Spending more means highe

I don't know what you mean by "getting off on" other than the fact that it's fun to solve problems. It's not like I'm gloating about what I do. Most of the little things I work on are completely private endeavors that I never even talk to

This is exactly what I meant. I didn't mean to imply that I was somehow too good to pursue an idea, just that it's hard to stay motivated once you've cracked the interesting problems.

Sorry. The chatserver is unstable. It runs ok on our staging server but there seems to be a problem on our new host. I have an Internet connection at Stanford now, so I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for your patience.
