I would like to do this for some subreddits I check too often as well. Maybe it could also be done for RSS feeds, using comment, Facebook like, and Twitter mention counts to determine which articles are more popular.

The likelihood of Kurzweil's particular vision of the singularity in this case doesn't say anything about the likelihood of the singularity in general, i.e. by the creation of artificial intelligence through methods that are nearer at hand

If it gains any sort of traction there's probably going to be inevitable breakage due to the growing pains of adding potentially millions of users a day. It's hard to win in this situation.

If YC Reject groups get similar funding, this might be a good way to empirically test whether either Y-Combinator succeeds at choosing more capable groups or Y-Combinator offers advantages over other accelerators.
