Thanks. One more regarding certificates: My guess is that a certificate subsidizes the cost of more expensive clean energy so that it equals the cost of non-renewable energy. Is this right? Either way, very interesting business model. Bes

My suggestion to those thinking about this: do the math. Having just quit my job, I found that health care is cheaper than you'd think. COBRA ensures that you are covered for 18 months under your existing plan. I can't think of any other be

I liked the kleinberg/tardos algorithms book better than clrs: www.amazon.com/Algorithm-Design-Jon-Kleinberg/dp/0321295358. I felt it was more direct.

You're usually ok if you do not produce a competitor to your day job's business in your spare time. From the sparse info available, the issue here is that he built something that could have been part of the core business of SGN.

Have you thought about doing a causes-donation type thing where the beneficiary is some advertised cause (eg: ACLU)?

I do not think the idea is pointless. I want something like this. I have a ton of academic papers in pdf format that I find hard to manage. It's the webmynd style augmented memory type of functionality that I would find most valuable.
