See response from daigoba66 below. AWS SES allows single address verification (not domain) via click on link received.

We have been using Managed VMs in production for while now, integrated in a micro-services architecture, for non-essential, non-frontend services and are quite happy with it. Using custom VMs (Docker based) and work like a breeze.

Also, before computing, wiretaps were extremely labour intensive. So mass surveillance wasn't a possibility. This is what repulses people.

Absolutely. But my only point is that we can't directly transpose the legal experience over 50 years in wire taps since there was never an equivalent debate over it's privacy. Wiretaps weren't really questioned because there

But there isn't an (at least widespread) equivalent of crypto for phone calls. So not really comparable.

I think most people have repulsion, as you say, towards the idea because a lot of them consider crypto a weapon (the only one actually) to defend themselves from unprecedented violations of privacy that are possible with today's techno

Also, having backdoors into encryption is akin to the Government having a remote kill switch that would render your legally owned gun useless. But that is a whole other debate.

I don't think that what was established 3 centuries ago, when the world was completely different, should necessarily hold true today, regardless of the best intentions at the time. The only method of recording facts at the time was by

Absolutely, but people should still be aware of the compromises and not confuse categories. Very few apps can make do with only a key-value store and if you have to throw a relational db in the mix, why introduce more moving parts unless ab

Redis is missing the D in ACID, meaning a successfully executed command is not guaranteed to persist to disk since Redis only flushes it's data to disk (if you do have persistence enabled) at configurable intervals. So when you server

Don't really know Crystal but it seems to me that it is statically compiled which means you need to find the type of 'a' at compile time. The approach you suggest is more commonly used in dynamic languages and involves keepin

How about the start of my sentence: "Absolutely agree". Would that imply it is an expression of my opinion, in your view? Standards? I think you are being a bit too hard on yourself and us. These are just comments on a web forum.

I was expressing my opinion, as it should be clear from my comment and the challenge to find a counter-example to my argument is called proof by contradiction.

"Boss" is often too restrictive as a word. You can call it "leaders", "spiritual guides", "representatives", whatever, but they exist in a hierarchy. Even though the individual is the indivisible elem

I could point to the 20.000 years of human history and challenge you to find the opposite: a single completely flat organisation/enterprise with more than one individual, that for a non trivial amount of time exhibited progress, growth

Absolutely agree, it is against human nature. Everyone has a boss, whether they think of them as a boss or not, is something entirely different.

I believe tuple support in v4 is a simple set of classes. There is no language construct specific for the use of tuples, which means it's just a library instead of a programming language feature.

Very useful idea. For some reason couldn't get it to work with Compiz so I'm using it with an Emacs command. Thanks.
