That's pretty much the behaviour on anything that isn't a BeBox. I had a program I wrote that used this on my BeBox and when I moved to 5 Pro on a Pentium it kept giving the same tempurature.

aan(1) can handle the network bit. I use that to mount my fs on my laptop over my phone so if the net drops it doesn't bother me as much. 9front is pretty average on battery. I get the same usage times as FreeBSD.

Plan 9 is a terrible choice for a phone. It's meant more for networks of devices that work together instead of standalone devices that download shit. I don't use Plan 9 when I'm away from my fileserver and cpu servers because

Yeah, I totally agree with you on that front. The GPL (especially version 3) really stifles the ability for others to use your code. I license everything BSD so that what I do can help others. Plus the GPL is HUGE and I can't be both

Yeah same. My MBA has a third party ssd and it boots fine. I wonder what the circumstances are exactly that causes this behaviour.

I use FreeBSD. Runs on my desktop and my Macbook Air. I still have Windows on my desktop for video games, but it doesn't get used much.
