Yikes, I had that exact impression until I read your comment and looked again. Thanks for noticing this, I agree it's a chart crime.

Speak for yourself. I have a modern machine running Fedora. What walled gardens are you talking about? Buying a Mac is a choice that you may make, but I never will.

Did any sci fi books predict an AI world where computer hardware was soaked up by AI mega corps and compute was undemocratized?

Until America bans actual guns I don't want to hear about the "growing problem" of 3D printed guns.

Do you not see the conflict between seeing the same incorrect behaviour again and again, and having a firm rule that expressly forbids the easiest fix to that behaviour?

I'll keep buying whatever games seem fun to me. I rarely play a game more than a year or two, they become stale and boring to me. I genuinely, genuinely do not care if the game stops working in 12 years time. Could not possibly care le

Do you know what a rhetorical situation is? Do you understand that the parent was not actually seeking answers to these questions, but was using the questions themselves to make a point about the Git UI?

It's ridiculous is what it is. It makes me deeply distrustful of the organisation behind Graphene that they would make such a crazy choice.

I don't see how it's relevant. I couldn't possibly have made it any more clear I would not buy a Google device, new or used, because I don't like Google.

What about the cohort that would care about it if they were aware of it? Or the cohort that cares about it but doesn't know such things can be blocked?

It's not possible to buy them at all where I live, even if I wanted to funnel money to Google - which I do not. I have gone to great lengths to de-Google my life.

Hamas also has widespread support within Palestine. Overwhelmingly the population of Palestine supports the actions of October 7. There is no clean separation between Palestine and Hamas, as much as one side wants you to believe there is.

"Staging" is not and has never been a military analogy. All kinds of workers have staging areas. Brick layers stage their work before laying. Builders stage materials. Staging is an area where you place your work before you begin

I don't think any software has ever wasted as much of my time as Brew. I can't think of a single positive experience I have had with it. I now absolutely refuse to use it for any reason.
