What I hate about these questions is that they're exactly what's asked in exams, so you're expect to make assumptions or fail. At this point, LLMs etc have more critical thinking to dodge these than humans who are conditioned

Yeah, it's a meme at this point that if you're learning AWS, expect to be homeless because you left the EC2 on. Maybe not that bad, but I feel like most people have the logging to detect spikes etc, except those who don't k

It's a moral stance. But AI isn't as bad as say, biological weapons. It's closer to piracy. So it's like I've never used a gun. Which isn't really a strong point. At the very least, even if you don't plan

It's the same elsewhere. Some places are actually using it as a way to get rid of people 'resistant to change'. It also remains to be seen what technical skills we need 5 years from now. I did memory management and pointers 1

Some software literacy questions are fine. My favorites are what is grep, what's functional programming, what is the difference between TCP and UDP, what does hashing do. Even if they were cheating, you could tell because the definitio

Singapore seems to be a "proxy" between east and west, specifically a way for Chinese companies like Bytedance to get American labor, and a way for American companies to get Chinese labor. Per capita, income is higher than the US.

Many browsers today are privacy first and by default will block trackers. Except that one browser by the company whose business model is reliant on ads. The pop up seems to be some kind of UX decision to protest laws around this. These site

AI is really good at this though. Not CSI levels, but better than some humans. And tool use is at the level that they can do two things at the same time, which is why playing pokemon is a benchmark now.

This is exactly it. One of the guys we interviewed failed because he used AI. The AI gave him a stack which made it difficult to complete the task in the given time. Well, that was the story anyway. Some team members were already using AI f

A "generation" is roughly 5 years on front end in my experience. Measured by say, the time when people make fun of jQuery when they can use vanilla JS to the point where people make fun on jQuery as an 'outdated' stack.

Specialist skills. AI is trained on data. Data pulls it towards the average. It does a good job, but only good. If great work is valuable, there's still a need for specialists. Like right now, native mobile jobs are mostly unaffected b

Not the case in Muslim countries and I guess developing countries, lol. Developing countries have very low labor costs. In some places, the drink is the loss leader. A group of people head out to a place and pay the minimum - a $0.50 cup of

It's designers flexing their knowledge of the 3:1 limit. It's like how architects don't make rectangular buildings, there has to be some curve somewhere. Some say that black on white is harsh on the eyes, but something like 1

Sadly, OP, your reply was killed by the sockpuppet algorithm, so I'll respond here. "...LLMs are good if you tell them the specifics (about the tone / context). Is it what you meant?" They're inconsistent. I believe
