1. Yes, but it's hard to prove. There are active lawsuits. Some of it has been under "fair use" but at the billion dollar scale, you have to really ask whether it's fair. Also anecdotally, an author friend lamented that

There's a joke that everyone who tries to solve their own problem makes a dating app. I think that's half of the problem - the people making the apps are amateurs, while the happily married people don't feel a need to make th

It's more that WeChat is seen as solely for prostitution, similar to OnlyFans. I know they're a legit app, but my wife does not agree. WeChat has location based search. Live near a university? Live near a school? There's opti

I'm working on a RPG. There's a fixed set of rules. I give the player freedom to do things but it has to be within the laws of physics, e.g. they can't just pull a key or a shotgun out of nowhere. So a LLM arbitrates the beha

I love haiku 4.5, but you don't need it. It's like a motorcycle. Feels good, but doesn't do the heavy lifting. Cursor has an auto mode for exactly your situation - it'll switch to something cost effective enough, fast en

I don't think it's really an "ethical" decision. If they didn't do it, people would just do it on Gemini or the many VC-backed llama models. It's just excluding a demographic. The real problem is that it become

Planning to. It doesn't cost me anything to give away for free, besides sync functionality. I'm still sandpapering the rough edges. Some things don't make much sense without some kind of tutorial or mouseover hints.

I've been unhappy with project management tools for over a decade now. There's nothing for personal project management and context switching. Workflowy is cool, but it doesn't fit my workflow. It's also not profitable. A

Cosmetics, fashion, and finance pays well in terms of ads, but that has little to do with homicide and terrorism. There's plenty of other forms of fearmongering like CO poisoning and snake bites. Media tends to be paid by politics too.

My theory is media is biased towards anything that can result in political change. Shark attacks and lightning strikes are dramatic but they don't seem to bias as much. Rare diseases have the potential to be sensationalist too. Terrori

That's article 32 of the GDPR. It also includes protection from social engineering. In all honesty, I haven't checked if it's true, but you can use AI to find a foreign law that fits and cite it word for word.
