Yes true but have you audited your thousands of modules? If you have a build tool that wasn’t born in 2020 chances are it pulls a hundred dependencies from 20 separate vendors. I saw this as a JS developer who scarily runs npm installs mult

How dare you culturally appropriate online millennial behavior? You can’t complain about cultural appropriation unless you have an arts degree from 2019.

Several things don’t add up and just show ignorance or selfishness. Examples: - traveling with covid - needing to extend a visa after 20 days in the EU (Ukraine is not a Schengen country so he just entered) even though it’s 90 by default. -

I mean GUI, a clickable interface with columns and such. With a CLI you get all the files in a single scrollable area. Side note: there are also GUIs for the terminal, they’re fine.

I find it crazy how many people like working with git from the command line and just use -a any chance they get. I never commit from CLI and have been using GitHub Desktop for years (it works on any repo/remote). Selecting individual f

Yes but I mentioned how to limit that: > trusted Google users > (after manual review) > already exists and works on Google Maps

You don’t give Google enough credit: They totally can add a “report spam site” action in the search results, but they don’t, because they don’t care. It would help immensely to have websites disappear from search after 100 trusted Google us

Hi, have you googled "smart kettle"? They already exist. We're living in the future and/or a joke. This and Russia turning the yellow arches sideways calling it Uncle Vanya make it feel like we've entered Los Santos

I don't think $20 on top of $700-$1400 is making anyone blink. One will bitch about it and proceed with the purchase, if needed.

I love how conversations conveniently slide off just to argue about stuff. The comment said "invented the modern slab-of-glass smartphone industry". That's it, that's true, there was no "slab-of-glass" smartpho

Are we going to post every 200-line project to HN too? Tiny projects are fine, but they don't all need to be posted to HN.

If I were you I would never do this, mostly because there’s already an insane amount of competition so it’s really, really not worth giving yet more power over your sanity to Google. Someone marks your business @domain emails as spam, now

Sounds like you’re on an old phone? I did have RAM issues on the 11 Pro that unloaded every app as soon as I opened the camera, but otherwise tabs did not unload that often. Reddit is its shitshow and I ended up installing Apollo. This is n

Yeah I saw that tweet. +1 for Safari, but we’re still -24. I’m still waiting for regex lookbehinds, a ES2018 syntax that I can’t use. Literally Safari does not execute the whole file if you use such regex literals.

To simplify: Best Buy sells locked phones. The locking is already there, but the operator is chosen at the activation so that Best Buy can sell one model for any operator. So the blame is actually Apple’s for blindly allowing this behavior,
