AFAICT, no current Mac comes with ECC - do they have the same issues? If so, one doesn't hear about them too often.

Heard a similar story from a friend last week - a faulty RAM stick as well. I'm glad I bought a Threadripper with ECC instead (worth waiting for a Lenovo sale and buy RAM separately)

Sounds a bit similar to what Google got in trouble for on Android - saying disabling OS level tracking does not mean web apps (IIRC) can not track either. Aka, saying search history is different enough that the control does not affect it

I was never as cold indoors as in Australia. The houses have no insulation, it's almost as cold inside as it is outside. Even if it's above 10°C in Sydney in winter, it's about 15°C indoors unless you use AC for heating. Add

I wish they would put in at least some basic effort into smoothing that sharp edge where wrists often rest when using the MacBook, rather than just the curvature of the corner. Any cheap laptop is nicer to my wrists than a MacBook.

Big cities can be ugly, but don't have to be. Less car centric, more green cities can be very pretty. Any brutalist architecture in those is terrible, making the place look worse on purpose.
