I'm not that familiar with PCRE, but I think that this engine is used in a variety of programming languages -- but not Perl's, as it's used to provide Perl-compatible regex. PHP's Manual for PCRE links to pcre.org, so it

The free Seaside book and also the free Pharo by Example book are great ways to learn MVC. The only downside is that after using Seaside and a Smalltalk environment, you will probably be dissatisfied with not having such awesome features av

Actually, I read an interview with one of the Rust devs recently where he said that one of the meanings behind the name "Rust" is that they purposely chose not to use any ideas from programming language research within the past 10

Can someone help me understand something? If a VM has no attached floppy drive, is it still vulnerable? The site says that disabling a virtual floppy drive is not enough, but if there's no floppy drive at all is that still a problem? &

I use knockout.js at work and like it quite a bit. But I think that I've found what you're looking for, or something close to it, in Reactive Extensions. It's a free library available for many languages including JS. With it

Yes, rewriting Perl 5 in Perl 6 would be quite an endeavor. However, that's why Inline::Perl5 was invented. It lets you use Perl 5 libraries in Perl 6 code: use Inline::Perl5; use MyProprietaryModule:from<Perl5>; use YAML

I interpreted the comic more as a statement about how important Github is to development than that it actually goes down all the time. So if it were down, that'd be a fine excuse to do nothing. :)
