Wow, beating ChatGPT-3.5 is really an accomplishment. Congrats! That's literally the default of OpenAI's product. I had to fallback to GPT-3.5 the other day because I ran out of usage on ChatGPT-4 (playing 20 questions lol). S

I clicked the link hoping to see beautiful diagrams to impress my colleagues, but it didn't spark joy. I much prefer the aesthetic of graphviz/google drawings/LaTeX/ggplot2. I think the author is too focused on details

What I imagined after reading this was everyone is so demoralized at Facebook, but perhaps specifically this team. I'd have to ask colleagues that joined Meta, but I'm imagining a team that's totally checked out. You know, y

A pleasant little language, it looks like weiwenhao started working on it back in 2021. It looks great! I couldn't find anything novel the programmer wanted to try out in this language-- seems like they just want to capture the zeitge

I love JAX. It can be a great replacement for Numba or whatever, the @jit works really well. And vmap is amazing... I often get lost in the matrix sauce when batching, using JAX I develop as if it's just a single instance, then vmap

I don't really like these content marketing posts, that subtly hide referrals. I also don't want to jump to conclusions, maybe the author really does like PicPerf (and just so happened to include a referral tag lol), but I think m

I have to agree that the code on the left is far more readable (one function). I've worked with developers that have written code on the right (lots of functions), and it's always the worst to iterate on. The problem in the secon

This is really the amazing part of the internet, seeing a file that has been casually hosted on a web server since 1999, not even budging for HTTPS-- I feel teleported back in time

Amazing news. I saw a video cast of Rick during a meeting @ NuBank, and it looked like corporate life had sucked the life out of him [1]. So, I'm glad he got out of there, and I hope he's able to shake it off like a bad dream.
