That is pretty cool. I added my game development library/framework as "2D Images", but maybe "Game Development" could be a separate category?

One of the most important lessons many programmers should learn is to "not give up". One of the obvious reasons that comes to mind is not giving up on releasing your product. However, there are many more things that one should never give up

I'm Portuguese and this has been on the news for a few months now, it's quite scary to think of the consequences this can have when it reaches the mainland, especially in the USA, where over 200 million people live.

Is Debian really 100% free? The Linux Kernel itself isn't 100% free, it has proprietary blobs. Sure, they can be removed, but I don't think Debian removes them by the default. Anyways, I do agree that Debian should be the distribution the F

Indeed, 4chan's way of handling this is pretty good, too bad Jeff didn't refer it.

Yeah, Vim and Emacs are actively developed (I checked the repositories the other day, commits every day on both) and the communities are huge. The editors are different, yes, but both brilliant.

Vim and Emacs are very probably HN's two favorite editors, not sure why he said that.

Ubuntu is open source AFAIK. Unity is open source and most of the default packages are open source too. Just a few drivers and network-stuff aren't open source IIRC.

>Windows-only >Steam-only >not DRM-free Seriously, what is this... The fun was cross-platformness (GNU/Linux and Mac OS X support). This is just not typical "Humble Bundle". I wouldn't mind less humble bundles (a couple a year),

That's something I didn't expect from MIT. It's ridiculous that they only support Mac and Windows.

Yeah of course, most terminals are at 80 characters, nobody can expect most Linux developers to have big ass monitors. It will be the standard for a long time, I'm sure.

But do you think school should be relying on iOS/Android/Kindle? Should they use something new? I don't want governments to pay (even more?) bazillions to Apple or Samsung, but making their own will also come expensive. Ideas?

There is a Google Drive client (just unofficial). And that is completely unrelated to Ubuntu and GNU/Linux. That is Google's fault for not caring about GNU/Linux.

As an Emacs user this doesn't really scare me, but I do know and always defend that Emacs and Vim are the best and only two decent editors out there.

"Linux Mint" version? It should be "Debian" version. Mint is based off Ubuntu which is based off Debian. ".deb" are for Debian-based distros, not for Linux Mint.

Indeed tsahyt, I'm also a bit concerned. I'm actually divided here. Besides the "flashplugin" package, I don't have any more proprietary packages in my laptop (I didn't remove the kernel proprietary blobs too), but I really want to install
