Selling software is a deadend. Nobody in their right mind will pay for it because the risks are too great. If you want to build a technology business sell services and support.

What's missing is why open source won. It's impossible to be rug pulled. If the maintainers (this is a carefully chosen word) attempt a rug-pull you can just Elastic or Redis them. If the product is closed this is impossible

No, it doesn’t seem excessive at all to me. If the lab delivered the same services for $2.5mil would you still be questioning that $150k salary?

There are no universally shared principles. I love my siblings and they are intelligent successful people but I wouldn’t want them as coworkers because they don’t have the necessary skills and experience to do what I do. Slavery is legal in

Your claims just don’t align with my experiences, anecdotes, or information. My mayor hired his niece to run a department. My cousin hired my nephews at a school district. I worked at a hospital where the IT director and the network admin

It is intrusive. You are also not allowed to utilize slave labor or employ children. We accept some restrictions for the smooth running of society.

The solution is the bureaucracy. I just don’t agree it is endless or ever present or that nepotism is the only reason for bureaucracy.

> The solution is endless growing bureaucracy to implement and enforce fairness at every level and it is happening everywhere I can see. Really? Endless? Everywhere? “I can see” is doing a lot of work there. > From my experience fa

It’s not every CEO. If you have a better idea do that and outcompete the companies that are making what you think is a bad bet.

How much can a bana- er, sandwich cost? I just checked McDonalds in my hometown in Idaho. A Big Mac is $5.99 for just the sandwich and $10.68 for a meal. A Double Quarter Pounder is $8.29 for just a sandwich. McDonalds is definitely on th

Unfortunately in this case “refined” means oversimplified. Avatars have been overloaded to also be the selection for bulk operations and also require Gravatar. This means if you don’t want Gravatar avatars you get no avatars at all and

I don’t have a problem with the regulation. Slate is trying to build a safe, affordable, electric vehicle. Having one display for all information seems like a good way to save cost.

This is very interesting but how would turnout and choice change if historically disenfranchised and suppressed communities had equal access to the polls?

There’s also one party that disproportionately targets specific voter demographics for suppression.

Looks like the dash and door cards are pretty much just flat plas- er, reinforced polymer. Aftermarket stereos and speakers come with mounting brackets and bezels to cover the holes you’ll need to cut.

There’s also no evidence that increased turnout would have had the same result. What seems to be overlooked in these conversations is the skill with which American voters have been disenfranchised by partisan forces. It’s easy to blame peop
