What's novel about this? And why use it over any of the more polished/simplified offerings like netlify?

A pattern I have implemented is to have my API code on both ECS/Fargate and Lambda at the same time, and send traffic to the appropriate one using an Elastic Load Balancer. I flag specific endpoints as "cpu intensive" and hav

Cheers for the history lesson - True and False really are relatively new in Python. I wonder how common that knowledge is. http://python-history.blogspot.com/2013/11/the-history-of-bo... https://www.pyt

I can't point you to an existing one. However I'm confident I could put this together in a day. Do you think it would be difficult? Github actions can be boiled down to running shell commands (with a bunch of other handy features)

As someone who's about to assist a frontend team to implement testing against a backend I've developed (my first time doing something like this), I can see that mocking backend APIs is inherently tedious and error-prone. And I

Will that not lead to bloat and/or more deprecation of services in the future? I suppose you can tell people "hey this service shouldn't be relied on! We might get rid of it one day!". But that erodes trust - people just

AWS has established itself as being highly backwards compatible - and the cost of that seems to be the long-winded process you described. If they were more liberal with what features they implement then they would have to either be more lib

yeah - you shift the risk from the retailer onto the consumer. Usually these deals will have some kind of faux-insurance arrangement baked in where the consumer will never have to pay more than something like $300/MWh
