Mullvad also states that it disabled the Firefox password storage feature, because it's supposedly insecure. But the articles supporting this view (i read) seem to be written by third-party password storage friends. Their arguments are

I never merge changes. I run my unison with `-batch -prefer newer`, so I never get queried. In the very, very rare case (like maybe once every few years), where I feel I lost a file to unison, I have to retrieve a backup. It would assume th

I use the git log to feed my changelog. I prefix the stuff that's supposed to go in the release notes with a asterix and the technical boring stuff is just a normal line. Then at release time I have a script that pulls the asterix pref

The author thinks the Telecaster is very hard to improve on. But the bridge design is ergonomically and technically really bad. There are small screws pointing out towards the strumming hand, just waiting to draw blood. And the intonation i

If I look at my bottle caps here in Germany, my 0.7l "soda" water bottles, don't have gaps. The Coca Cola glass 0.5l bottles don't have gaps either. Club Mate 0.5l doesn't have gaps. Only the Sprite bottle 1l has g

I was really looking forward to Wayland, when I moved to Linux. It was then said to be right around the corner. That was six years ago. If the current state of Wayland is as bare-bones as depicted in the article, it's just sad. And as

The solution is to recompile, which you have to do with such ABI changes, since the dawn of time.

There is probably nothing wrong with it. But booting up a VM is quick and convenient, whereas for example searching through the bitsavers archive for the right ROM images isn't, just for one thing.

It would be cool to have a LISP Machine VM that you could boot up. Does something like that exist ?

How do you feel qualified to critique someone else's C code, even publicly on Hacker News ? You seem to have basic problems with understanding how a macro (in this case forEachObject) works.

My impression of the gold market is this: The gold bugs always say, that now is the right time to buy. It rarely is though. That's because issuers and supporters of fiat currency have an interest in the gold price not exploding, becaus
