Indeed. Not being poisoned with clickbait thumbnails and short reels. What a relief.

Is there any way it can be localised? I’m in the UK. I’ve been refreshing today (Friday) but it’s still showing Thursdays news. Very well executed app. I have lots of questions about how it even works.

Seems like one of those apps ripe for Sherlocking by Apple. Which would also solve screen recording privacy issues.

I enjoyed the interactivity and the "severed heads of traitors, displayed on spikes as a warning to citizens and visitors."

I find it interesting how they use “aging spacecraft” and “exceptionally long lifespans” of these devices. In terms of the age of the universe, or the time that light from a star has travelled to us, it’s minute. Aging in relation to human

This has been on my radar for a while. It's so impressive. Bundling electron for all platforms can be a real headache. The only issue is, it's hard to commit $99/mo for a solo developer to trial a small app. (I know it's

These kind of libraries are always easy to spot in the wild because of their transitions on things like modals and action sheets don’t match native. They’re just not as smooth.

Hi, author of the article here. Just to give a little more background here. Cabin doesn't store a row in a database for each visit. It only stores one row, per day per domain. The attributes for that row are simple tally counts - visit

I half remember a JS library posted a few years ago called ‘STD’. I think the owner swiftly changed the name after a few giggles.

In one lambda I can load chrome, visit a website, take a screenshot and save it to S3 in around 2s with around 280mb memory used. You could keep chrome open and reuse it if available, but you can't count on it with lambda being statele

Puppeteer-core can already fit in a lambda around 60mb and can be used for web scraping, taking screenshots, or performance testing.

Yes, nothing too special. There are 6 or 7 string matches e.g. "I need an app that" (minus retweets). But also retrieving referenced tweets.

Yup, It's one simple lambda function that reads the JSON file from S3, searches twitter for new tweets since the latest, appends new ones and writes back to S3. Cron'd every minute.
