In a few years you'll probably get to the point where you don't prefer less invasive solutions but will pick the right tool for the job. If you know you'll be iterating rapidly but will stay within the confines of 'standard CRUDdy app' then

Hi Seth, since you're here, can you help explain how the Google+ OAuth relates to the GMail OAuth? Are they just using different scopes and can you authenticate with both in one go or are they really separate APIs?

IANAL but I expect that if that specific women read this comment she'd now be in a position to sue for discrimination quite effectively.

Skip 50 seconds into the video and you'll see the killer feature here: a seamless handoff to your companion mobile app. It seems they're even offering analytics with it: https://developers.google.com/+/features/play-installs

It seems that someone could make a killing by building a service where you: 1) can invite a small group of recruiters who have gained your trust 2) keep an up-to-date record of what it would take for you to switch (whether it's Facebook off

I'd say building a business that improves these issues is close to the best we can do to help those directly affected by the system. I can imagine an app that would help the uninsured to survive a hospital without going bankrupt could do qu

I'd say having a meaningful conversation with a dolphin would be a much bigger mindfuck. For all we know we could be discussing how the transition to Kantian philosophy played out slightly different for them in a few years.

That's a very specific diagnosis made from a quite widely interpretable blog-post. I'm sure you mean well but these kinds of off-the-cuff diagnoses are, if not wrong, rarely of any benefit to the diagnosed.

Dolphins are exactly why I feel SETI is such a misguided (in a sweet way) effort. Here we are, searching for extraterrestrial intelligence while we can't even communicate with the other intelligent species on our own planet. Glad to see we'

Whenever I think of our society's relationship with death I remember a documentary I once saw about an aid worker who travelled with a nomadic tribe in Africa for a while. During her stay one of the tribe's elders decided she had had enough

If you read the article carefully you'll see that the author is sort of trying to weasel his way out of a bind. From what I can tell the author 1) only partially charged the battery 2) didn't plug it in overnight 3) pushed the car to it's

Every system is flawed; the ones after high-school as well. I'd suggest following hkmurakami's advice and figure out a way to bend the system to your will. It's a much more valuable lesson in the longrun.
