For creation, yes, because of the provenance of the training data that got us here. It was acquired unethically in the overwhelming majority of cases. Using models derived from that training is laundering and anonymizing the existing creati

Most of the Elixir in Production posts on the official blog (including this one) come off this way, IMO: https://elixir-lang.org/blog/categories.html#Elixir%20in%20P... It's pretty much just appeal to authority. &

Are you thinking of this, formerly known as Lumen? https://github.com/GetFirefly/firefly AFAIK it's been mothballed and one of the major contributors seems to have left the BEAM ecosystem altogether. They're

I care most about perf/responsiveness as I navigate the site. GR was tolerable on this metric while I still used it, StoryGraph (for understandable reasons) is abysmally slow somehow. I have the same complaint about BoardGameGeek. If i

I would say that jujutsu is at least as compelling as Pijul in conversations where either is valid to implement. Migrating off of Git cold-turkey is a high barrier for some, and jj lets you defer that requirement via high-quality interop.

BEAM hot code deploys are a vanity tactic in most business verticals, not worth the time and energy to most - nor are they something you can feasibly implement at a polyglot organization. Rolling deploys behind an off the shelf load-balance

Elixir is an unintuitive inclusion for praise on this topic, to me. We have dialyzer, which is very polarizing and frequently maligned, and somewhere between 2.0 and 3.5 partial implementations of LSP depending on how you're counting.

Unlikely, the contributors don't seem to have meaningful Ruby backgrounds. Isn't it a simpler supposition that the naming intent was merely (R)ust Actors?

Tiny bit of context I'd also call out is that one of the primary authors comes from WhatsApp IIRC, with an extensive Erlang background.

This matters, a lot, for contributing to the tool authored in Rust. But for merely installing and benefiting from it, compile-time is largely a one-time cost that pays returns quite soon.
