That's what pisses me the most about world these days, my pet peeve. Words seem to be losing their meaning. People just throw whatever words they want. Recently I've been shopping for a steam station and I've seen that the to

Seconded. My brother got into frontend dev (JS mainly) so sometimes I probe him for what's being used. Each time I do this there's a new thing. And the JS tooling? my fucking god, how I despise it. The opaqueness of it all, the mo

What I miss the most in PHP is support for threading. Krakjoe did wonderful, unappreciated work with pthreads (the PHP extension). Sadly, that's no longer maintained.

What I love about this approach is that if I fuck up somewhere specific and a user triggers that part then the whole app doesn't go down.

True, and it's already been happening with TVs from what I recall. You know what I wonder? Where's the hatred threshold for ordinary people? When you see an ad in a middle of something and you're so pissed that you'll go

You know what I miss? Software I can pay for. I'd happily shell out couple of bucks a year for a browser. Or a social network. I'd be more than happy to pay regularly for something that requires regular, constant, maintenance, upk

I'd guess that it's better for engagement for you to keep looking for it for minutes on end. Who knows, maybe you'll happen upon just the right, rage-inducing, useless post that might keep you on for longer.

You should look up Gell-Mann amnesia . The basic premise IIRC is that the media's credibility is undeserved. You go through a newspaper reading about this and that, nodding along. When you happen upon an article in a field you know a

It all depends on the complexity of the method of the contract being called. I can surely imagine an $800 fee in peak times for a complex multihop swap on Sushiswap or something ;)

The original idea of nudging a vote this way was brought to my attention in a book by Viktor Suvorov (it was either Aquarium or The Liberators ). Some communist asshole wanted his nephew or something hired for some government position.
