Raytrix has already been doing this: http://raytrix.de , however stereo-cams, time of flight, and structured light approaches are usually more effective. You can do everything you can do with a light-field array camera with 3+ le

I agree with most of the other replies here, but also: consider (1) seeing a therapist and (2) reading the Tao Te Ching . If you're so stressed out about your work that you can't lead a joyful life, and you can't even give y

I got a great job through the the Who's Hiring thread. The company that hired me said the signal:noise ratio from HN was about 50:50, much higher than any other method.

What really bugs me are Vim modes that don't allow you to easily add new keybindings that abstract combinations of keystrokes, i.e. map <key> <keys>. For instance, I love to bind "s" to "go into insert mode,

I think it's better to make that decision when you're 18, not 16. Always best to keep your options open because you don't know how you or the world will change, even in the near future.

I'm not sure it's advisable to encourage somebody not to do well on their A-levels. It's not like the US where you can get low marks in secondary school and be fine. He won't be able to attend a decent university, ever.

Embrace creative destruction. Apps die and it gives new ones a chance to fill the space. Keeps the ecosystem responsive and gives everybody a chance to innovate. Want apps to stick around? Enjoy Excel, Photoshop, etc. :)

Sci-fi as a genre is not defined by "extrapolating from interesting science". It can also extrapolate from uninteresting science.
