My guess is the fairly recent history of a certain Austrian authoritatian far-right leader responsible for some of the worst atrocities in the course of human history has something to do with this particular fascination. Not saying every ri

OPA, or rego? My experience working for Styra was that most people seemed to grok where OPA fit in fairly quickly, but struggled with rego. It's a very powerful language and well worth learning I think, but it's an investment for

Nice to see OPA making the front page! I'm a bit biased though, I used to work at Styra :o)

I couldn't agree with you more, but sadly the amount of inertia around React makes it very difficult to ignore or supplant. Especially if you're in the business of providing any kind of developer tooling. The project I'm most

I used to work with a fella that wrote code similar to this. To him, code seemed to be a scratchpad, a place to jot down ideas and try them out. Once an idea worked out, he shipped it. Done. Impossible to maintain, but damn if he couldn

Looks to me like this was a discussion that devolved into idealism and this person deftly resolved it by identifying a solution that would allow maintainers to safe face while also resolving the root issue. Don't like what's being

Not strange, it's hypermedia at work. I wish more APIs (made for human consumption or otherwise) would be so considerate. See also: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Status/300

I'm one of those (there are dozens of us!) who actually liked the Touch Bar and not only that, deeply regret Apple giving up on it. I found it eminently useful to have contextual controls I could use rather than those non-descript Fn k

I've recently picked up Farming Simulator on PS5, not so much because I'm into farming or anything but it's a great little game for shutting your brain off for a while. There's no point to the game, beyond just farming,

Many corporations work like this also. First time I experienced this was some 15 years ago or so when a client (a brand owned by Kraft Foods) reached out and said they had x amount of money and needed a project to spend it on, lest they

Not that I have any insight into any of the events at OpenAI, but would just like to point out there are several other reasons why so many people would sign, including but not limited to: - peer pressure - group think - financial motives -

I can speak to this a bit, having piloted a Candela (the speed boat version, I forget the number) on the Swedish west coast where seas can get notoriously choppy seemingly out of nowhere. This is a couple of years ago though so maybe they&#
