Many of these businesses are also predictably linked to the broader economy - ticketing at Eventbrite, reservations/shopping for Yelp. It would be prudent to keep a cash stockpile for the inevitable cyclic downturns. Full disclosure,

The GitHub designers are infallible GOATs, how dare this upstart - wait, WAIT. This is actually pretty good. Designing for desktop width makes sense because GitHub uses a relatively independent design on mobile [0]. I'd like to find a

I loved traipsing through the different fonts to see what they did. I discovered some font-features I wasn't aware of: * bitmapped + ligatured fonts - you can have both! * sans-serif normal, serif italics - Italicized words were serif-

The way environmental concerns have been corrupted into institutional delay levers is sad. "How Burrowing Owls Lead To Vomiting Anarchists" is one of the few (and best) explanation of the impacts of these kinds of tactics that I&#

This article in particular doesn't seem like a good example of your generalisation. No ridiculous childhood flashback, and the headline is a facet of the main point expressed in the first paragraph.

The majority (2/3) of the piece is evidence to back up an idea. This includes a grouchy anecdote, along with 4 or 5 studies linking screen reading to reduced comprehension, empathy, and critical thought. I didn't find the evidenc

I think this sometimes gets used as an excuse for people who don't want to deal with another layer of indirection added by an abstraction. The gist of this touchstone blog post is that we need to be willing to abandon our abstractions
