I obviously don't know, but I could easily imagine that Apples legal team has flagged it as a potential risk and the cost of keep the certification up to date is minimal, compared to some imagined risk. Safer to pay the fee, and not ha

I don't think Solaris is Unix certified anymore. It was previously, but the current supported versions are not.

So for those who, like me, wonders why Apple keeps getting macOS Unix certified, it's to avoid a lawsuit. Apple misused the Unix trademark when they first launched MacOS, so to avoid legal trouble with The Open Group, Terry Lambert was

Wasn't eight of the ten best selling phones iPhones? It was even beaten by the iPhone 14 line up, which was only for sale in four out of the twelve months, while the SE was available for all twelve. You're right that it was good s

Sure, but those logos need to replace the old ones, everywhere. The new logo might cost a few millions to design, but that's the least of it. You'd need to replace the old logo and naming everywhere from signs, websites, letterhea

If it's layoffs aren't there a very real risk that the most talented people, who enjoy working from home will simply leave, while the less talented returns to the office because they'll have a harder time finding new jobs? So

Rebranding an entire department under the US government cannot be cheap. That does not sound like something a frugal government does without a very good reason.

Didn't the SE models sell notoriously bad as well? There are always a bunch of us who wants a smaller phone, but the sales number indicates that we are the minority. To some extend I also think it explains the increasingly thin phones.

Checking a price comparison site I say that's about right. With Android I can just pick a different phone that does the few things I need and save thousands. Apple doesn't provide me with that option anymore.

The cheapest of the new phones is 7500DKK ~ 1175USD. That is just insane. I get that I can get an older models and that Apple is a "luxury" brand, but at $1000+ I don't get who buys new iPhones anymore. Apple seems stuck in

The word joining always annoys me. I doubt very much that the Alex team is joining OpenAI, they where bought out. Joining implies some sort of semi-equal partnership, which I very much doubt this is.
